Main Story

Melo had lived an average life, thinking she was an ordinary girl, until she accidentally discovered her ability to transform into a cybergirl and enter the digital realm. She found that she was able to switch between her human and cybergirl forms, and used that to her advantage to escape the mundane yet somehow still stressful reality she found herself in.During her first foray into the digital realm, she developed an interest in online gaming, something she had primarily observed from afar in her younger years as a human. As her experiences with games was limited, she had decided to explore the different options available to her, and met many people who helped her and supported her through her journey. Although she was unable to meet these people in reality, she could communicate with them by connecting to their devices and joining them in online spaces.Despite feeling lost and out of her element, Melo slowly became attuned to transitioning between her two forms. While testing the limits of her abilities as a cybergirl, she realised that she was able to manipulate reality in the digital realm. After a long time practising and conducting various failed attempts, she was finally able to create Myuniverse - a space of her own that she could share with the new friends she made along her journey exploring cyberspace. She decided that this would become a safe space for any virtual travellers to seek company and respite from the difficulties they may face in reality.

character introduction

“The tales she shares captures the heart of all her listeners. If only she would stop sneaking off during her research projects for storytelling.”
- An Akademiya senior

A young researcher that is too ambitious for her own good with a penchant for disguise and love for stories. Do not be fooled, for even the name many know her by is a stage name, chosen from a Fontanian tale she had read in her childhood. Her achievement in making Dastur for both the Haravatat and Amurta Darshans by leading a double life was not one to be trivialised, yet many fail to recognise her academic prowess due to her habit of sneaking away from classes and research projects to tell stories at the bazaar, which are greatly loved by the public, but left unappreciated by the Akademiya, much to her dismay. Her intrinsic motivation consequently lies in demonstrating how academia and arts can coexist in the pursuit of knowledge. After all, is there truly a reason to denounce the arts in the nation of wisdom?

vision

Upon reaching schooling age and passing the entrance exams to the Akademiya, Melo was absolutely baffled by the notion of having to enrol in just one Darshan. There was so much she wanted to learn, and she knew that being restricted to one field of study would not align with her search for knowledge. Those who heard her woes deterred her from her attempts to bypass the system, saying that attaining even one degree from the Akademiya was rigorous and time-consuming, let alone two.The warnings she received were well-meaning and appreciated, but unheeded. They did nothing to her resolve, as she conducted a simple, yet surprisingly effective plan, born from the imagination of a young mind. The idea had came to her after reading one of her many books, where the protagonist had disguised themselves. One sunny afternoon, she snuck off to the bazaar, purchasing temporary hair dye from a vendor to disguise the distinct bluish tint of her hair. With fingers tipped with red matching the new colour of her curls, her new identity as a foreign student was created, and she took the entrance exam again, passing it for the second time. That night, she celebrated her victory as she enrolled herself into Haravatat and Amurta, heart thrumming with childlike excitement. She had accepted the difficulties that would come with her new double life, along with the academically rigorous nature of her studies. Luckily, she was able to ensure that there were no overlaps between her classes, giving her ample time to prepare her disguise before each lesson. As the years passed and she grew older, Melo had become more adept at altering her appearance, learning to use her different personas for her other pursuits. In one of these instances, Melo had snuck out from a research project for her second thesis in the Amurta Darshan, much to the dismay of the Herbad supervising her, who had entered the lab to check her progress only to find her hat abandoned on the bench. Even while striving to make Dastur, she was still prone to this infamous habit of hers. Her academic prowess still allowed her to complete the work she needed in due time, and not many people would put themselves through making Dastur in two Darshans. With four theses to complete, she deserves some time to herself. After all, there were very few that would have the heart to stop her, for it was rare to find a person that was not enthralled by the tales she told at the bazaar. Wearing a more elaborate outfit compared to the Akademiya's uniform and hair still slightly damp from washing the dye out, Melo weaved tales much like those from the books that had captured her interest in childhood for rapt listeners.Pride swelled in her chest after the conclusion of this particular story. It was one of her best performances yet, bringing the plot to life with intricate descriptions and vibrant characters. As the crowd dispersed, she noticed a telltale glint by her seat. The Vision shimmered in her hand when she picked it up. Perhaps it could help her create more complex illusions.
